What does the US Naval Academy do for You?
As the undergraduate college of our country’s naval service, the Naval Academy prepares young men and women to become professional officers of competence, character, and compassion in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Naval Academy students are midshipmen on active duty in the U.S. Navy.

How long does it take to graduate from the Naval Academy?
They attend the academy for four years, graduating with bachelor of science degrees and commissions as ensigns in the Navy or second lieutenants in the Marine Corps. Naval Academy graduates serve at least five years in the Navy or Marine Corps.
Do you get scholarships to the Naval Academy?
This means ALL students who attend the Naval Academy do so on a full scholarship in return for 5 years of active duty service upon graduation.
Can you apply for the Naval Academy in 10th grade?
We recommend that you apply for this wonderful opportunity to see the Naval Academy and explore the world of STEM! If you are in 10th grade, you should continue focusing on your academics, extracurricular activities, leadership roles and taking the PSAT. 10th grades also have the ability to apply for Summer STEM.
When to take Act and sat for Naval Academy?
Starting in December of your junior year (if not sooner): Take the ACT and SAT exams early and often. If you do not score well on one, take the other. The Naval Academy combines the highest math and verbal scores from either test to evaluate your competitiveness. Results are accepted as late as February of your application year.
