Das Meckel-Divertikel (Divertikel = birnen- oder sackförmige Ausstülpung der Wand eines Hohlorgans) ist eine Fehlbildung des Dünndarms, die durch mangelnde Rückbildung eines in der Embryonalentwicklung angelegten Ganges (Rest des sog. Embryonalen Dottergags bzw. Ductus omphaloentericus) entsteht.
Sind Divertikel normal?
Sie sind klein, ballonförmig und wölben sich durch Schwachstellen in der Darmwand nach außen: die Divertikel.
