What is Neopets and how does it work?
At the simplest level, Neopets is an online game where you take care of a fantasy creature called a Neopet. Like the electronic „virtual pets“ that were popular a few years ago, your Neopet gets hungry if not fed regularly, and can be made happier with toys and grooming.
Can Neopets die if you ignore them?
Neopets allows users to create and care for digital pets called „Neopets“ and explore the virtual world of Neopia. There is no set objective for the users, but they are expected to feed and care for their Neopets when they grow hungry or ill. Neopets will not die if neglected, but their health can limit their gameplay.
How do you buy pets on Neopets?
Users can own virtual pets („Neopets“), and buy virtual items for them using one of two virtual currencies. One currency, called Neopoints, can be earned within the site, and the other, Neocash, can either be purchased with real-world money, or won by chance in-game.
How do I view more than one set of Neopets?
When you first enter the „Adopt“ door at the Pound, you will be shown one to three random Neopets whose names begin the same letter. You can view a different set of Neopets using the „View More Neopets »“ link, which shows new pets without reloading the entire page, though you could also reload the page instead if you prefer.
For the uninitiated, Neopets was, and incredibly still is, a website where users could create and raise virtual pets. Once logged on the site, you could feed your pets, play with them, and even battle them against other Neopets. It’s best to keep in mind, these were no normal pets.

Neopets was a massively successful and inclusive digital world, but I think people focus far too much on its advertising model. There’s so much more to the site.
Who is the founder of Neopets?
Dohring founded Neopets, Inc. in February 2000 and began business on April 28. Intellectual property that did not belong to Neopets was removed but the site kept the British spellings.
