Die Heimat der wildlebenden Agapornidenarten ist Madagaskar und Afrika, wo sie als Höhlenbewohner gesellig in Schwärmen leben. Die Vögel kommen in vielen Farbvariationen vor, wobei zumeist die Farben Grün, Gelb und Rot überwiegen. In den meisten Fällen lassen sich Weibchen und Männchen äußerlich nicht unterscheiden.
Was essen Lovebirds?
Gib den Unzertrennlichen frisches Obst. Unzertrennliche mögen frische Früchte wie Birnen, Bananen, Weintrauben, Erdbeeren, Himbeeren, Äpfel, Orangen, Mandarinen, Kiwis, Feigen, Melonen, entkernte Kirschen und Hagebutten.
Wie lange brüten Pfirsichköpfchen?
Das Weibchen legt in ihr ausgepolstertes Nest zwischen vier und fünf weiße Eier, die in 21 oder 22 Tagen ausgebrütet werden. Die Nestlingszeit erstreckt sich über einen Zeitraum von 35 bis 40 Tage. Danach sind die Jungvögel flügge, werden aber noch zwei weitere Wochen mit Nahrung versorgt.

The genus Agapornis was introduced by the English naturalist Prideaux John Selby in 1836. The name combines the Ancient Greek αγάπη agape meaning „love“ and όρνις ornis meaning „bird“. The type species is the black-collared lovebird ( Agapornis swindernianus ).
