What is a claymore in Dark Souls 2?
Claymore is a weapon in Dark Souls 2. A very large greatsword. Very heavy, and designed for use with both hands. Allows for broad attacks that are effective against multiple foes. Requires great strength and experience to handle effectively. Sold by Head of Vengarl for 4,300 souls in the heavily fogged forest area within the Shaded Woods.
Is the Claymore better than the Zwei?
It’s subtle, but the Claymore might be a bit faster recovery than the Zwei. Fortunatley both greatswords are 1) low stat requirement and 2) easily accessible early game (much like DS1). I think both can get A scaling in STR (I know Zwei does with Infused Heavy + Slab). Not a fan of Stance or Thrust with either.

Essentially playing the same role of the same sword from Dark Souls, the Claymore is a utilitarian greatsword with a versatile moveset, good reach, fast swing-speed, and acceptable damage per hit. It has the same average scaling for both Strength and Dexterity.
