Kann sich onix entwickeln?
Entwicklung. Seit der zweiten Spielgeneration kann sich Onix zu Stahlos weiterentwicklen, welches wiederum zur Mega-Entwicklung fähig ist. Dafür muss es getauscht werden und dabei das Item Metallmantel tragen. Durch die Entwicklung wird sein Gestein-Typ durch Stahl ersetzt, was auch äußerlich bemerkbar wird.
Wie sieht Stahlos aus?
Stahlos ist ein sehr großes und langes, schlangenähnliches Pokémon, welches komplett silbergrau ist. Einzig ein kleiner Bereich hinter den Augen ist schwarz. Der Körper des Stahl-Boden-Pokémon besteht, abgesehen von Kopf und Schwanzspitze, aus sieben unebenen, runden Gliedern.

Steelix lives even further underground than Onix. This Pokémon is known to dig toward the earth’s core. There are records of this Pokémon reaching a depth of over six-tenths of a mile underground. Protects the Pokémon from recoil damage. It cannot be knocked out with one hit.

Steelix also has good defending Quick Moves that are slow and high-power, and have either good neutral coverage with Dragon Tail or STAB with Iron Tail. It also has a good bulk to cp ratio for some staying power.
Is Steelix the best gym defender in the game?
Any Snorlax you get out of the current Research Rewards will be a better defender than Steelix. Steelix isn’t a BAD Gym Defender, but in the current Gym Meta, only 3 (maybe 4) Pokémon are actually good – Blissey, Snorlax, Chansey and maybe Slaking.
