Ist ein PhD ein Doktortitel?
PhD ist die Abkürzung für den lateinischen Ausdruck Philosophiae Doctor. Damit bezeichnet der Titel wörtlich den Doktor der Philosophie. Faktisch handelt es sich beim PhD jedoch um einen der höchsten allgemeinen akademischen Grade, den beispielsweise US-amerikanische Universitäten vergeben.
