Netflix hat keine Pläne, „House of Cards“ fortzusetzen. Kurz nach dem Sex-Skandal gab es Gerüchte, dass es einige Ideen für Spin-offs gäbe, wobei eine Ableger-Serie um Stabschef Doug Stamper (gespielt von Michael Kelly) etwas konkreter besprochen wurde. Später wurde diese Serie jedoch abgesagt.
