In Kanada entstand 1867 der erste nationale Lacrosse-Verband, kurz darauf wurde in den USA der erste Lacrosse Club gegründet. Einige Jahre später kam der Sport über England nach Australien und Neuseeland, bis er sich viel später auch im kontinentalen Europa verbreitete.
